Shumard Oak
A nice red oak that becomes wide and spreading with age. Canopy is somewhat open when compared to Quercus nutalli. Leaves turn to a yellow-bronze to a slight reddish color in the fall. Drought tolerant. Height 40-60 ft.  Spread 40-60 ft.

 

Quercus shumardii commonly known as Shumard Oak is appropriate for Zone 5-9.
